The joint video infrastructure (VDX) enables video meetings and consultations across central government, regions, and municipalities. As operational partner for MedCom, Netic provides secure, scalable platform operations that make it easy to adapt capacity as needed.
VDX functions as a shared infrastructure connecting various video solutions and clinical systems. MedCom acts as the joint public system manager, aiming to ensure accessible and well-functioning video communication for both professionals and citizens.
The Challenge
Flexible Capacity and High Uptime
The need for digital meetings varies over time, and the platform must effortlessly handle both day-to-day operations and sudden spikes in activity. This requires a technical setup where the architecture can rapidly scale up and down without disrupting the many connected systems and integrations.
The Solution
Modern Platform Operations
Netic manages the operation of the VDX solution within a secure, modern setup supporting both high availability and rapid scaling:
- Hosting & Network: Hosting from Netic’s Danish data centres with redundant power, cooling, and high-speed networking.
- Contain, Compute & Database: The VDX application runs on a Netic Managed Kubernetes Cluster with a Highly Available database solution, enabling resources to be scaled as needed.
- Security & Compliance: Operations are supported by ISO 27001 certification, ISAE 3402 auditing, and continuous 24/7 monitoring.
The Value
Room for Development and New Use Cases
With Netic as a stable and flexible operational partner, MedCom can confidently leave the day-to-day management of the infrastructure in safe hands. This frees up resources to further develop VDX and expand video solutions into new sectors and field areas.
A Forward-looking Partnership
The partnership surrounding VDX is built on long-term goals. In 2024, Netic and TDC Erhverv re-won the tender for a new contract period running through to 2029. This ensures MedCom an experienced partner capable of supporting the ongoing development of the shared video infrastructure.
In February 2026, we at Netic were fortunate to be visited by Jesper Søderberg Knudsen and his colleagues from MedCom at our weekly company meeting. They shared insights into MedCom’s work and highlighted the importance of Netic’s stable operations.
Organizational change
As of January 1, 2027, MedCom will become part of the new Digital Health Denmark, which also brings together the Danish Health Data Authority, sundhed.dk, and regional tasks. The organization aims to strengthen a more local, equal, and cohesive healthcare system through data and digitalization.
